ARDI-VE has a few configuration options available.
These can be found by pressing the ARDI menu in the bottom-right corner of the screen, then choosing the 'Configuration' button - the gear - at the top-right of the server list (shown below).
The configuration options appear over the server browser.
Press the green 'X' button to save changes and close the configuration screen.
Resolution controls how sharp your image is and how well it fits on your monitor.
We suggest selecting the native resolution of your monitor - ARDI will default to this in most situations.
Note however that resolution does have an impact on performance. On slower or older hardware, running at a lower resolution may help boost your frame-rate (the smoothness of the video).
Check this box (checked by default) to run ARDI-VE full-screen. Otherwise, it will appear as a window which you can move around the screen.
Adjusts the draw distance. This is the distance at ARDI will substitute smaller, simpler models for your extremely detailed ones.
The further to the right this setting is, the longer the draw distance. This improves visual quality, at the cost of potentially lowering your frame-rate.
The further to the left, the sooner objects will be swapped in for their low-quality replacements. This may drop your visual quality, but may significantly increase performance.
This changes how ARDI processes messages from your mouse.
Normally, ARDI tracks your mouse at the hardware level, which allows you to keep moving your mouse even after your cursor reaches the edges of the screen. This makes looking around objects easier.
However, some environments - particularly virtual environments, such as running ARDI-VE on a KVM or via an RDP/VNC session - do not give ARDI access to the mouse hardware. Unchecking this box will use a mouse access method that works better in these environments.
When using a controller (such as an XBox 360 or XBox One controller), this will invert the Y axis, meaning moving the stick down will result in your view moving up. This is simply more comfortable for some users.
Prevents ARDI from disabling history playback animations. This option is useful if you'd like to prioritise smooth data playback over framerate when performing a replay.
Deprecated - This option may be removed in a future version
Used to enable touchscreen control.
ARDI can now automatically differentiate touch and mouse controls and smoothly transition between them. This option is present for legacy reasons, but will be removed in the future.
