The Asset Interface
Left clicking on any Asset within the Virtual Environment will bring up the Asset Interface. This interface shows all relative information pertaining to the selected asset and provides several options for sorting and filtering the environment by assets related to the selected asset.
Properties
When you open the Asset Interface, this is what will normally appear.
It is a list of all of the properties that are measured on or are likely to flowing through this asset.
If the asset you've selected doesn't have any properties of its own, you ARDI-VE may show you some properties from the items inside the selected asset.
Some properties include a more button. This gives you some additional options.
You can use the Properties button to return to the properties list if you've used the More button.
Relationships
This options shows the relationships between this asset and any other assets in the Virtual Environment.
For more information, see The Relationship Walker
More (Asset)
This option allows you to do additional interaction with assets. Most often, this is filtering, but some optional effects may allow you to interact with your asset in more ways.
Web Dashboard
This option opens up the web dashboard showing detailed information about the asset stored on the ARDI-VE server.
Move Upstream/Downstream
While the relationship walker is the clearest way to navigate around your scene using relationships, it has the disadvantage of being slightly slow and deactivating your selected vision mode.
The upstream & downstream navigation controls allow you to move through your relationships quickly, without changing your current display.
To use them…
- Choose either up-stream (left) or down-stream (right).
- Choose a relationship to follow
- Choose an asset to select
If at any time there is only one option, you won't need to select it - you'll be taken straight to the next step.
Pressing shift and clicking on these buttons will try to follow the relationship you chose last time you pressed the button. So if you've already chosen “Air Supply” once, pressing shift and clicking these buttons will allow you to walk through your Air Supply relationship until it ends.
Close
This option hides the Selection Interface window.
