Injector Addon

The injector addon allows you to change values in your ARDI server through a web form, allowing you to simulate events and data changes in your system to see how clients respond.

This addon is designed with developers and testers in mind - if you are planning on allowing end-users to make changes to data, we would suggest using the remote addon instead.

Note that the addon can only change values that are linked to live data. In normal operation, this means that your injected values will be overwritten by the next live data update.

If you are setting up a pure demonstration server, you can use the zero driver to ensure your modifications aren't overwritten

Initially, the injector (accessible from the Administration, in Data Injection) is in single-point mode.

This means that it is trying to modify a single property on a single asset.

1) Start typing the asset name, ERN or other identifier, then choose a match from the list.
2) Choose the property you want to set.
3) Enter the value you'd like to set it to.
4) Press “Inject Data”

In some cases, you may want to set a property across many assets.

Choose “Bulk Injection” to begin this process.

It works in a very similar way to single-point injection, except in this case you choose a type of asset to apply the value to, rather than a single asset.

Some properties will also have additional options - for example, analogue properties can have a certain amount of randomness added, while enumerations can be told to be random as well (50% of the assets will have the chosen value, the other 50% will be scattered randomly).
