Bulk Changes
You make changes to more than one asset with the bulk changes features.
This allows you to perform an operation (such as substituting text, changing names, deleting assets etc.) across all of the assets that share a particular relationship.
Most commonly, it's used to change assets that are inside a location.
Please note that applying bulk changes incorrectly may overwrite large amounts of content in your ARDI database. If unsure, we suggest making a backup of your database before proceeding.
You can perform a number of different changes to your assets, including…
Assign Type to Asset
This assigns a particular type to the assets below this one.
This is particularly useful if you have just created a new type and would like to assign it to some of your existing assets.
Auto-Link A Property
Performs automatic linking on one or more properties on all of the assets within the relationship.
Note that normally, automatic linking will only link to a similar property in the same type of item (ie. other assets that share a type). However, when you perform auto-linking from this page, it will base the automatic link of any asset.
Change Location
Moves all of the children of this asset below a different asset in the Location hierarchy. This is often used to move numbers of assets around.
Change Link Transform
If you need to apply a new transform to a large number of assets, you can apply it here. Note that this requires that you use the internal transform format, so it's suggested only for advanced users.
Change Scale
This is used to change the scale of multiple assets at once.
Copy 3D Behaviours
This copies the animations and other 3D effects and behaviors between assets. This allows you to configure complex VE behaviors once and then copy it to other assets. Note that you can do the same thing using the 'eye-dropper' control in ARDI-VE.
Copy Live Links to Historical
Your live data source and your historian aren't always the same and don't always use the same address in their data storage system (what might be read from MODBUS address 40001 is read as 'LwrBearingTemp' from MySQL). Because of this, you link ARDI properties to live data and history separately.
However, if you're one of the lucky few who have a live data and historian system that agree on the name of the data point, then you can use this function to copy your live data link to the history data link.
You'll be asked to nominate the data source to copy from, and the source to copy to.
Delete All
Deletes all assets. This may optionally include this asset.
Place Assets at Regular Intervals
In quite a few industrial settings, assets are repeated at regular intervals along a straight line. When you have a large number of assets, it can be very awkward to position each item individually.
Using this option, you only need to position the first two items. ARDI will then measure the distance between them and distribute all of the other assets along the same path at the same distance.
This is best used with the profile relationship.
Remove All Links
This option removes all live and historical data links to assets within the relationship.
Remove Type from Assets
This option removes a given type from each of the assets. Useful when you're making changes to your type hierarchy.
Replace In Name
You may have decided to change the name of an area of your plant or a particular system. 'Replace In Name' lets you search for the occurrence of a value in asset names, and replace it with an alternative version.
For example, you could replace the word 'North' in a selection of assets to 'East' instead.
Search and Replace In Links
Similar to the above option which replaces in the name of your asset, this does the same job but searches in the links your asset with live and historical data.
Ideal for correcting typing mistakes or adapting ARDI to changes in your underlying data management system.
Update a Property Value
This option replaces the value of a certain property in all of the assets contained in the relationship.
