Property Groups

Properties can be grouped together when they are related.

This is particularly common in measurements, where you may have a number of different properties that are variants on the same theme, or the same measurement but performed on different media.

Grouped properties include a space, a hyphen and a space character ( - ) to separate the group name from the property name.

Imagine a simple gas-powered boiler. You have a water circuit and a gas circuit, each with flow-meters and pressure sensors.

You could have one property (pressure) shared between your gas and your water sensors.

But this could be confusing, since these measurements usually have different ranges and different measurement units. There would also be potential issues with property flow, with ARDI not being able to tell the difference between the two.

So you instead create two different properties - Pressure - Gas and Pressure - Water.
